6:00pm – 7:30pm Wine and Cheese

Compucon System Enhancements

The government has scheduled to impose a new Minimum Electricity Power Supply (MEPS) regulation on the computer industry effective on 1 October 2013.  We will explain what this regulation is about, how it impacts the computer industry and customers, and how Compucon translates the cost burden into functional benefits.  An example is the introduction of a new slim micro tower case to replace the current case for Diamond and Jasper.  The new case comes with more benefits and only one negative which will not affect our customers much.  The 2nd agenda of the session is about 3 niche system models which will empower our channel peers to obtain more business.  These system models are not readily available from overseas brands or local assemblers, and are special designs from Compucon to deal with emerging industry trends.

(a) 2 versions of tiny Atom Servers with IPMI- one in Short 1U and one with Onyx enclosure
(b) Mid Xeon Workgroup Server with 16 hot swap hard disks
(c) CAD training station
(d) Superhawk evolving to Intel 4G core whatever this means

RAID and SAS1200 Review

The folks at Adaptec keep innovating.  Neil Cameron, Adaptec field application engineer for Asia Pacific region and a repeated Compucon seminar speaker for many years will come over from his Sydney base to deliver the presentation for 2013.  He will explain a range of new features and functions available from the latest RAID controller cards – plus some new releases – plus answer all our RAID questions.
